Turkmenistan sees growth in many sectors in 2021

The volume of assimilated investments from all sources of financing in 2021 amounted to 31.7 billion manats ($9.07 billion) in Turkmenistan, said Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Financial Affairs during the expanded government meeting, Trend reports citing Business Turkmenistan.

During the reporting period, the trade sector of the country grew by 8.8 percent, the service sector by 5.8 percent, the transport and communications sector by 4.3 percent, agriculture by 3.8 percent, and the construction sector by 0.3 percent.

Last year, the country's retail trade turnover amounted to 114.2 billion manats ($32.68 billion), an increase of 16.6 percent compared to 2020.

Intersectoral lending in Turkmenistan fell by 5.5 percent to 4 billion manats ($1.14 billion) in 2021 compared to 2020, while debt decreased by 2.9 percent to 7.5 billion manats ($2.14 billion) in the reporting period.

According to the report, Turkmenistan's GDP grew by 6.2 percent in 2021. The foreign trade turnover of the country last year amounted to $15.1 billion, an increase of 20.5 percent over 2020.
