Iran eyes to increase fish exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 28. The value of Iran's annual exports of fish and related products are expected to reach $1 billion by March 21, 2025, taking into account the country's existing potential, Chairman of Iran Fisheries Organization Hossein Hosseini said, Trend reports referring to IRIB.

The chairman noted that work is already underway on the basis of programs developed in this regard.

Hosseini added that Iran's fishery products export amounted to 160,000 tons worth $556 million for last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).

“In total, Iran produced about 1.27 million tons of fishery products last year,” he said.

According to the programs, Iran's fishery production will reach 2.6 million tons by March 21, 2025, Hosseini also pointed out.
