TEHRAN, Iran, May 30. Head of the Iran-Syria Joint Chamber of Commerce Keyvan Kashefi announced that Iran's exports to Syria have almost doubled, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Kashefi made the remark at the Iran-Syria Business Forum
“The value of trade between the two countries rose by 60 percent in the previous Iranian year (ended on March 20) as compared to the preceding year,” said Kashefi.
He suggested the reduction of preferential tariffs between the two countries as an incentive for increasing trade relations.
He stressed the need for improving the infrastructure as a prerequisite for the expansion of mutual trade.
“Every trader needs to get his goods to the destination as soon as possible, but due to the fact that Syria does not share a border with Iran, the shipping cost and delivery time increases," he explained.
