BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27. The non-oil trade turnover between Iran and Iraq amounted to more than 2.9 million tons worth about $8.64 billion, during the 10 months (August 23, 2021 through June 21, 2022), the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

According to Latifi, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 15 percent in value compared to the previous period (August 22, 2020 through June 21, 2021).

“In 10 months, Iran exported 23.5 million tons of goods worth about $.58 billion to Iraq, which is an increase of 3 percent in value compared to the previous period,” he added.

The spokesman noted that Iran mainly exported agricultural products, construction materials, petrochemicals, electronics, medical supplies and medicines, cars and related spare parts, clothing, footwear, sweet stuff, and etc. to Iraq within the mentioned period.

Latifi also said that Iran imported 2.41 million tons of goods worth $1.06 billion from Iraq during 10 months, which is an increase of 512 percent in value compared to the previous period.

The customs official emphasized that Iran mainly imported wheat, barley, oil, corn, soybeans, paper, equipment, household appliances, electronics and others from Iraq for the reporting period.
