BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 14. Approximately 1.6 million tons of non-oil products worth $958 million were exported through the customs of Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province (north-western Iran), during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), Customs Inspector of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province Leili Orangi said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
The official said that the exported goods were mainly steel products, rubber products, various chemicals, petrochemicals, food and agricultural products, etc.
“The non-oil products through the province's customs were exported to 96 countries, mainly to Türkiye worth $323 million, Iraq worth $230 million, Azerbaijan worth $42 million, Afghanistan worth $33 million, Georgia worth $32 million, Bulgaria worth $28 million, the UAE worth $21 million, Pakistan worth $15 million, Myanmar worth $12 million and other countries worth $222 million,” she added.
According to Orangi, at the same time, 265,000 tons of goods worth $822 million were imported through the province's customs for 8 months. The imports increased by 17 percent in value and 4 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
Orangi also pointed out that the main imported goods were various vehicles, equipment, spare parts and so on.
“Over 8 months, the goods through the province's customs were imported from 49 countries, mainly from Türkiye worth $480 million, the UAE worth $108 million, China worth $65 million, Germany worth $52 million, South Korea worth $20 million, Italy worth $14 million, Georgia worth $13 million, Spain worth $12 million, Japan worth $10 million, India worth $8 million, and other countries worth $40 million,” she noted.
