BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 8. In general, 56 trillion rials (about $1.3 billion) worth of investments were made in the industrial sector of Iran’s Semnan Province in the north of the country, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Deputy Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Semnan Province, Hamid Reza Qods told reporters, Trend reports citing IRNA.
“Last year, 216 industrial enterprises were put into operation and 5,680 people were employed with the making of mentioned investments in the province,” the deputy chairman noted.
Qods also added that Iran has issued licenses for setting up 597 new industrial enterprises in the country. It is expected that 112 trillion rials (about $2.66 billion) worth of investment will be made in this direction, and 12,000 people will be provided with jobs.
According to him, a total of 11,282 people were employed in the province within the last Iranian year.
There are 18 industrial parks in Iran’s Semnan Province. The area of the mentioned industrial parks is about 6,880 hectares. Of the total manufacturing enterprises in the province's industrial parks, 90 percent are small industries, 6 percent are medium industries, and the rest are large industries.
