BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 9. Iran exported 432,000 tons of non-oil products worth $152 million to African countries, during the first 4 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), Deputy Chairman of the Iranian-African Businessmen's Club Rouhollah Latifi said on social media, Trend reports.
The official added that Iran’s goods were exported to 38 out of 54 countries of the African continent for the reporting period in 4 months.
Among the African countries, Iran’s main export destinations were:
- Ghana – 105,000 tons worth $56.4 million;
- The Republic of South Africa – 102,000 tons worth $29.3 million;
- Mozambique – 80,000 tons worth $19.3 million;
- Kenya – 36,600 tons worth $12.3 million;
- Tanzania – 36,000 tons worth $9.6 million;
- Somalia – 42,000 tons worth $8.8 million;
- Sudan – 10,800 tons worth $3.3 million.
“Over 4 months, Iran mainly exported iron and steel products worth $61 million, urea worth $44.6 million, bitumen worth $20.8 million, agricultural and food products worth $13.4 million, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) worth $2.7 million to African countries,” Latifi said.
Meanwhile, Iran exported a total of 2.45 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.18 billion to African countries over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
Overall, Iran exported about 45.8 million tons of non-oil products worth $15.9 billion within the first 4 months of the current Iranian year.
This is a decrease of 7.97 percent in value and an increase of 28.6 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
