Iran sees surge in imports via Isfahan Province’s customs

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. Iran’s imports through the customs of Isfahan Province increased by 1 percent in value and 13 percent in volume during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared with the same time last year, Director General for Isfahan Province Customs Office Rasoul Kuhestani said in Trend reports.

The director general added that 57,900 tons of goods worth $299 million were imported via the province’s customs over six months.

He noted that the main imported goods through Isfahan Province’s customs were various kinds of equipment, raw materials, etc.

According to Kuhestani, the mentioned goods were mainly imported from China, Türkiye, the UAE, Germany, and Italy.

“Meanwhile, the revenue of the province’s customs stood at 14.8 trillion rials (about $354 million) in six months, which is an increase of 44 percent compared to the same period last year,” he said.

Overall, Iran imported 14.4 million tons of goods worth $24.2 billion within the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023). This is an increase of 7.49 percent in value and 2.17 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
