BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 12. Iran’s Zanjan Province, located in the west of the country achieved 97 percent of its non-oil export target in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), said Hossein Mohammadi, the deputy governor of the province, Trend reports.

To note, the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran assigns non-oil export goals to all provinces of the country.

Mohammadi stated that the non-oil export target for Zanjan Province was $470 million for the 9-month period. The province exported non-oil products worth $457 million during that time.

He added that the ministry set a non-oil export target of $627 million for Zanjan province for the whole Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024).

The deputy governor also said that the province exported 867,000 tons of non-oil products in 9 months, of which 181,000 tons were exported through the province’s customs and the rest through other provinces.

Mohammadi further stated that Zanjan region’s share in the country’s non-oil exports was 1.3 percent.

The latest data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that Iran exported a total of 113 million tons of non-oil products valued at $40.5 billion in the first ten months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024). This represents an 11 percent drop in value but a 9.4 percent rise in volume compared to the same period last year.
