Iran-Kazakhstan non-oil trade down

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 12. Iran’s non-oil trade turnover with Kazakhstan decreased by 17.3 percent in value and 23.6 percent in volume in the first ten months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

Data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that the non-oil trade between the countries for the reporting period amounted to 508,000 tons worth about $220 million.

In the corresponding period of the previous Iranian year, both countries traded 665,000 tons of non-oil goods worth approximately $266 million.

The main trade items were agricultural and food products, tobacco products, petrochemical products, wheat, barley, various types of equipment, etc.

During the 10th month alone (December 22, 2023 through January 20, 2024), Iran’s non-oil trade with Kazakhstan stood at 44,000 tons worth about $22.6 million.

Overall, Iran's non-oil trade with the rest of the world was $94.8 billion in the first 10 months of this year, equivalent to approximately 146 million tons of commodities.
