BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 17. Users can be confident in the protection of data transmitted through the "mygov" platform, Deputy Chairman of the Board at the Innovation and Digital Development Agency under the Ministry of Transport and Digital Development of Azerbaijan Shahin Aliyev stated during a Q&A session at the presentation of the updated electronic government platform "mygov," Trend reports.
"Modern digital technologies undoubtedly offer numerous advantages, but they also come with certain risks. As the volume of data stored in the digital space grows, so do the threats and cyberattacks. This is a natural occurrence with the rapid advancement of technology. The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, together with the Faculty of Innovative Digital Development, is actively taking measures to enhance cybersecurity capabilities. One key step has been the creation of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center. In collaboration with Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology, we are training highly qualified specialists to strengthen cybersecurity at all levels," he said.
The Deputy Chairman emphasized that the "mygov" project deserves special attention.
"It is important to highlight that all data processed on this platform is stored in relevant state databases. When a citizen requests information through "mygov," the request is sent to the corresponding government database, from which the response is received. This ensures a high degree of data security and accuracy. To protect government infrastructure, several units have been established to handle different levels of security: the State Security Service, the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security, and the Ministry of Transport. Each plays a crucial role in safeguarding critical information infrastructure, the public sector, and private business. Additionally, "mygov" has a professional cybersecurity team, consisting of experienced specialists who have worked in major companies," he noted.
Aliyev mentioned that these experts rigorously test each new version of the platform, conducting numerous vulnerability tests and analyses.
"These tests are also conducted by external companies with international experience. Thanks to collaborative efforts and multiple checks, we can confidently state that "mygov" is a secure platform today. Users can be assured of the protection of data transmitted through "mygov," he added.
