Business Materials 18 April 2006 15:01 (UTC +04:00)

The senior WB expert on land administration, the project head, Gavin Adlington starts his visit to Azerbaijan in order to identify the land register project identification, the Baku office of WB told Trend. This is his first visit to Azerbaijan within the frames of the given project and it will last till April 28.

The project was created as a result of separation of the real estate registration component from the agriculture crediting project in Azerbaijan (second phase). The government believes that the evaluation of the project` s total cost will be over in the first half of 2006.

$5-10m has been allocated for the creation of the land register in the agricultural project. However, these finances are insufficient for such a complex and huge project, as $3m has already been spend on land register in Nachcivan only; considering that there are only 300.000 of population in Nachcivan. Thus, there must be at least $15-20m to carry out the land register in the whole country with 8 million of population.
