On April 27 in Baku was held the presentation of a new nongovernmental alliance entitled В"National Budgetary GroupВ". Trend reports at the meeting were participating representatives of governmental and nongovernmental organizations, deputies of parliament, representatives of local and international organizations.
Speaking at the presentation, head of Public Finances Monitoring Center Ingilab Ahmedov said the alliance had been established by a group of NGOs including Public Finances Monitoring Center, Center for Economic Researches, Expert economic edition, Training Cute for Economic and Business Research, Economic Innovations Center, Public Association Intellect, Public Association for debates in Civil society, union of Sumgayits Students and Center of Free Economy, and Free Person Society.
Ahmedov paid special attention to the work National Budgetary Group performed during the last 3 months. In this period, organization approved its memorandum, charter and strategic plan for 2006-2009, as well as the actions plan for the year 2006.
Ahmedov said also the actions plan defined specific works assigned to the members of group. Besides, the group dispatched information to International Budget Project, Global Witness, International Coalition Publish what you pay, etc.
Head of enter for Economic Researches Gubad Ibadoglu said the main activity of National Budgetary Group is popularization of information about budget, upgrade of budgetary legislation, influence of public on decision-making in budget processes, budget process reporting, etc.
