Azerbaijan should receive rating from the second and third international agency to make the euro-bonds that the Azerbaijani government is going to issue more attractive, Trend reports citing Heydar Babayev, the Minister for Economic Development. The work with the obtaining of the second and third rating will be intensified, as it is impossible to set up talks on euro-bonds without it. The consultations in this respect are ongoing and as far as I know there were written appeals to the second and third agencies, the minister underlined.

To date the Ministry of Finances has contracts with Fitch Ratings and Moody`s, while the country has been rated only by the first company. In 2006 Azerbaijan will be awarded 2 sovereign ratings. The Minister stressed with the consideration of dynamic of economic development of the country the third rating agency can also be attracted. It might be Standard & Poors.
