On May 14, 2006 Donna Doucette-Koyrolo, the World Banks South Caucasus Regional Director will visit Baku, as the Baku representative office of the Bank informed Trend.
The visit planned to continue up to May 21, 2006 will include exchange of opinions with economic block of the government concerning questions of further cooperation.
Other subjects of discussions will be questions concerning new partnership strategy of the Bank with the country for the years 2006-2009. The strategy has not been approved yet by Directors Board to determine the volume of aid to Azerbaijan; however, it is expected to be defined in June. Although, preparation of projects to be included in strategy is going on and three projects are expected to get approved by the end of June.
Total cost of strategy will be approximately $1.2 billions. Most of the assets will be allotted on the line of IBDR.
Loand for social projects, reforms in legal and law enforcement system, improving accounting standards, reconstruction of irrigation-drainage system, improving water-supply system will be allotted by International Association of Development.
