Azerbaijan , Baku / Trend , corr . S. Aliyev/ Javid Gourbanov, the Head of "AzerYolServis" under the Azerbaijan Transport Ministry, said that the Azerbaijan Transport Ministry is expected to implement the building and overhaul of about 300 km of highways in the country, Trend reports.
The corresponding work will be carried out in Gedabay and Tovuz Districts of Azerbaijan , as well as the highway leading to the Old Azerbaijani Village of Laghich, which is the cultural and historical monument of Azerbaijan . "Repair works will be also carried in the highways leading to frontier and mountainous villages and settlements of the country," said Mr. Gourbanov.
The funds on these projects will be presented from the Purposeful Budget Fund - "Highways", which was founded by the Presidential order issued last year and which has been working starting from this year. In 2007, the amount of funds of the Fund is envisaged at the level of AZN 98 mln. Moreover, funds on the reconstruction activities will be granted directly from the State Budget.
