Terms and Procedures on Presentation of Permission on Construction Activities in Azerbaijan to Be Loosen

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. I. Khalilova/ Samir Nouriyev, the Chief of the Department for Entrepreneurship Development Policy of the Azerbaijan Economic Development Ministry, has said that new Regulations starting from Allotting Lands till Presentation of Permissions on Carrying out Construction Activities in the Country are expected to be prepared within a month.

According to him, according to the existing regulations, 212 days are taken to pass an expert examination of forthcoming construction activities, allotting lands for them, as well as presentation of permission on carrying out construction activities, including preparation for a passport on construction activities.

However, in accordance to the Presidential Decree issued on April 30, 2007, which concerns some measures to be taken due to the development of entrepreneurship in the country, the terms are planned to be reduced, and procedures are expected to be simplified. All these are one of the measures being taken to improve the position of Azerbaijan in the joint report prepared by the World bank (WB) and IMF - "Doing Business 2007: How to Carry Out Reforms?". (Notably, Azerbaijan has taken the 99th place in the rating on favourable conditions needed for business)/

The new regulations are to be prepared with the involvement of representatives of Executive Power, Justice Ministry, and Economic development Ministry of the Country.
