International Transport Agreement to be Finalized in Baku
Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Aliyev / A multilateral agreement on multi-modal transportation between the countries will be signed during the summit of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM ( Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova) by the member countries. The summit is to be held in Baku from 18-19 June, a source at the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry reported on 24 May. The project of agreement has been already designed.
Azerbaijan is a transport coordinator of GUAM. A meeting between the Transport Ministers of the four countries will be held during the summit.
During the National Coordinators Committee meeting held in Baku in the beginning of May, where the coordinators viewed implementation of Temporary Procedure of Coordination of GUAM's Joint Appeals, they discussed the inclusion of the 'Lingering Conflicts in GUAM Area, their Consequences for World Security and Development' resolution into the agenda of the UN General Assembly's 61st session.
The diplomats considered organization of a GUAM-US meeting in New York at the level of national coordinators of the 'Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM: Priorities and Prospects' conference to be held in the second half of 2007.
