Internal Investments in Azerbaijani Economy exceed Foreign Investing from Jan-May

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr I. Khalilova / Enterprises and organizations invested AZN 2,272,100 in the economy of Azerbaijan from January to May of 2007. The figure rose by 9.9% compared to the same period of 2006. Investments in major capital made up AZN 1,499,600 (66% of all investments) and state property AZN 772.5mln (34%).

The State Statistics Committee reported that investments in repair and construction rose by 12.4% and made up AZN 1,093,500.

Investments in industry comprised AZN 1,820,300 (80.1%) and non-production facilities AZN 451.8mln (19.9%).

Special weight of foreign investments made up 48.3%. Internal investments comprised 51.7% which is an increase of 52%.

A total of AZN 301.8mln was spent on the construction of facilities financed by budget funds, which comprises of 19.5% of the total funds allocated in this respect. In general, 2007 public assignments in this respect constitute AZN 1,548,700,000.

Investments in major capital by enterprises and organizations comprised AZN 1,724,800,000 (75.9% of total investments), banking credits AZN 49.3mln (2.2%), budget funds AZN 323mln (14.2%), non-budget funds AZN 101mln (4.4%), community private funds AZN 63.2mln (2.8%) and other funds AZN 10.8mln (0.5%).
