Volkswagen to Premiere Eight Models in Frankfurt

( Worldcarfans ) - Volkswagen will present over fifty models - its widest range of cars at an exhibition ever, at the Frankfurt Motor Show, opening to the public on September 13, 2007. Volkswagen's most anticipated release is the Tiguan, a "new generation SUV developed to complement the Touareg" that will get the 103 kW and 125 kW variants of Volkswagen's four-cylinder diesel engine with common-rail injection.

The motto of this year's Frankfurt Motor Show is "See What's Driving Tomorrow" and Volkswagen has announced that it will unveil a "City Expert" prototype with its "heart ... beating where the flat-four "Boxer" engine once did in the Beetle." We can't wait to see how Volkswagen has pulled off this one; The Vehicle of "Tomorrow" inspired by the 1938 Beetle engine layout.

Volkswagen will also unveil six new BlueMotion models to accompany the already available Polo and Passat BlueMotion models for the 2008 model year. The current Polo BlueMotion boasts impressive fuel economy figures of 3.8 litres of diesel per 100 km and a record 99g of CO2 per km. Stay tuned for more pre-Frankfurt teasers and news!
