Azerbaijan, Ganja / corr. Trend V.Mammadov / Works is nearing completion on the construction of a new settlement for 42 families whose houses were destroyed or became uninhabitable as a result of a landslide in the Dozular Village of Azerbaijan's district of Khanlar, said the Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, Kamaleddin Heydarov, who is on visit to Khanlar, on 20 August.
According to him, AZN 1mln has been allocated from the Reserve Fund of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan for the construction of the new settlement. In addition, according to the Presidential decree, an additional AZN 4mln has been allocated for the construction of communication lines.
Heydarov said that a 8km road will be constructed, electricity, a 7km gas line and a water supply system will be provided in the settlement. Further, a secondary school will be put into operation on 10 September for 120 pupils.
The new settlement is built in the area of 45h in the distance of 3km from the landslide zone. The area of each house equals nearly 70 sq.m. Twelve of the 42 houses are three bedroomed and 30 are two bedroomed.
