The winner of the tender for the preparation of a feasibility study on the project of reconstruction of SOCAR's (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) recycling center was an American company Mİ SWACO, SOCAR Ecology Department said.
Operations on this project are carried out within grant agreement signed between SOCAR and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) in the amount of $572,000. The agreement was signed Aug.13, 2009.
Eight companies have submitted their proposals in order to participate in the tender. SOCAR has established a special commission to asses these proposals in the form of relevant legislation.
Earlier SOCAR Vice President for Ecology Mukhtar Babayev said that the project will be prepared during this year.
The center envisages processing of industrial, solid waste, as well as secondary use and utilization.
