In January 2010, the state concern Turkmenneft provided production of about 447,600tons of oil, the company said.
Since the beginning of 2010 about ten new wells were drilled. In addition, 52 existing wells, which allowed fishermen to get almost 10,000 tons of oil, were rehabilitated.
According to the program for 2010, Turkmenneft - the main oil producing country - pledged to achieve five percent growth in oil production compared with the previous year.
In recent years about ten million tons of oil are produced, the main part is produced by the state concern in Turkmenistan. There are Burren Energy (subsidiary Eni), Mitro, Dragon Oil, Petronas and others among the foreign companies operating within PSA.
