As of Dec.23, the Sate Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) exported 800 million cubic meters of gas to Russia under the mid-term contract, a source in the oil and gas market said on Thursday.
According to him, now, daily volume of SOCAR's gas export to Russia amounts to 1.3-1.4 million cubic meters of gas.
SOCAR exported over 759.4 million cubic meters of gas to Russia in January-November under the mid-term contract, compared to 698.64 million cubic meters in January-October, SOCAR said. The company exported about 60.8 million cubic meters of gas to Russia in November compared to over 80.6 million cubic meters in October.
The medium-term contract on the purchase and sale of Azerbaijani gas to Russia was signed between SOCAR and Gazprom in Baku on Oct. 14. The contract covers 2010-2014.
Under the agreement, Azerbaijan will supply gas no less than 500 million cubic meters to Russia annually. The contract does not specify a limit to the volume of gas supplies.
Azerbaijan began gas supplies to Russia on Jan. 1.
