The US support the construction of the Trans Caspian pipeline, U.S. State Department Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy Richard Morningstar said at the press-conference in Baku.

"If the EU, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan are able to negotiate the terms, in which the pipeline can be build, we will support this," Morningstar said.
However he believes that it is impossible to say when this pipeline will be constructed. "First of all we should have an agreement between the EU, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan," he said.
Morningstar said that the US and Azerbaijan have common views towards the future development of the Southern Gas Corridor and are fully committed to this project.
He mentioned that the recent gas deals between Azerbaijan and Turkey are the significant step towards the realization of the Southern Gas Corridor.
