Iran will install another onshore drilling rig in the Kish gas field within 30 days.
The managing director of Iran's Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), Abdolreza Haji Hosseinnejad, said that the country plans to start production of one billion cubic feet of gas at the field by November 2015, Iran's IRIB News Agency reported on May 28.
"A comprehensive development plan has been envisaged for the field," he said, adding that the project is going according to the plan.
"A consortium consisting of domestic banks and private companies is in charge of developing the downstream sector of the field," Hosseinnejad added.
The development plan of the Kish gas field started in 2007. The field holds around 66 trillion cubic feet of in-situ gas and 514 million barrels of condensates.
The Kish gas field is the largest non-shared natural gas field in the country.
The field is projected to yield 85 million cubic meters of natural gas and 30,000 barrels of gas condensates per day.
