Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Romanian ambassador to Turkmenistan Sorin Vasile discussed the issues of expanding cooperation in transport, logistics and energy during the meeting, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a message.

According to the message, Meredov and Vasile stressed the high level of political cooperation between Turkmenistan and Romania.

"The sides expressed gratification with the mutual support for each other's international initiatives as part of various international organizations," the message said.

Earlier, Turkmenistan and Romania agreed to consider the optimal ways of the Black Sea-Caspian Sea trade-transport corridor by using the advantages of the ports of Constanta and Turkmenbashi. The issue is the formation of the Eurasian Transport Corridor.

In particular, the Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transportation has been recently considering the possibility of transporting goods, including liquefied gas, to Constanta.

The delivery route envisages the use of special containers and runs through the Caspian Sea to Baku (Azerbaijan), then by railway to Batumi or Poti (Georgia, Black Sea region) and from there by sea to Romania.
