Tehran, Iran, Sept.18

Trend:

The attacks on Saudi Arabia oil facilities will affect global oil price and the drop of oil production should be compensated, Ghassem Saedi, a member of parliament's energy commission, told Trend.

"The explosion in Saudi Arabia oil facilities [for which Yemeni rebels claimed responsibility] will make the global oil market to fluctuate intensely," he said.

"Saudi Arabia is producing 5.7 million barrels of oil per day and the sudden attack will reduce the country's production capacity and increase the price," he added.

The MP's has indicated that there is possibility that oil price may exceed $100.

"It is unlikely that Saudi Arabia's oil production will recover soon after the damages, as repair of these facilities needs time. Meanwhile, oil reservoirs in main facilities also can not operate," he said.

"Saudi Arabia's oil is the main source for the global industries; thus, the European and American industries will face crisis by this void. In the current situation, the US to want to use its strategic reserves to compensate the production fall, but it seems America will not take the risk," he noted.

"Considering the current pressures on global industries, there may be a share for Iran's oil sale, and the US President decision [on sanctions against Iran's oil] could change this situation," he said referring to the effect of this case on Iran oil's sales.

"The global oil market is in turbulent situation and can use the opportunity to buy Iran's oil. We are not afraid of negotiations; we have always acted on the basis of international framework and can provide oil to the world during the shortage of Saudi Arabia's oil," he said.

"The void is a threat to the US fuel industries. In next days, the country will face serious problems If America uses reserved sources, it may be risky; therefore, they should make a right decision in this situation," he added.
