Minister talks electricity, water projects to be launched in Iran

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 10

Iran will look to implement 40 water industry and 99 electrical industry projects this Spring, said Reza Ardakanian Energy Minister of Iran, Trend reports citing the ministry.

According to Ardakanian, 60 trillion rials (about $1.4 billion) have been invested in these projects.

On March 10, twenty five water and electricity projects have been commissioned, worth 71 trillions rials (about $1.7 billion) in 5 provinces of Iran.

In the second half of the current year (beginning March 21, 2019), Iran decided to commission 227 projects in the water and electricity sectors at the expense of 330 trillion rials (about $7.8 billion) in 31 provinces.

As many as 41 water management and electricity projects have been completed in six provinces of Iran.

The cost of these projects is estimated at 30 trillion rials (about $ 714 million).

These projects were completed in Western Azerbaijan, Isfahan, Zanjan, Kirman, Qazvin and Lorestan provinces.

Two power stations, electric transmission lines, rural water supply infrastructure and other projects have been completed.

Due to spread of coronavirus, the facilities were commissioned with participation of Iran's energy minister Reza Ardakanian through video conferencing.
