Uzbekistan, Hungary establish long-term co-op in field of nuclear education

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Innovation and Technology of Hungary signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of nuclear power, Trend reports citing Uzatom Agency for the Development of Atomic Energy under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

On March 31, 2021, the first meeting of the Uzbek-Hungarian Business Council, a business forum with the participation of business circles of the two countries, meetings in the B2B and G2B format, as well as a meeting between representatives of the agency Uzatom and ENEXIO Hungary Kft were held within the framework of the visit of the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban to Uzbekistan.

It is reported that as a part of this event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Innovation and Technology of Hungary on cooperation in the field of training and education of workers in the field of nuclear energy on the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

According to Uzatom, the purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to foster long-term cooperation in the field of nuclear education between countries.

Within the framework of the memorandum, the intention was expressed to create training courses and educational programs for the provision of maintenance and operation of nuclear power plants and the development of human resources, for the assessment of nuclear safety, protection against radiation, etc.
