Reduction of natural gas production by about two million cubic meters at Mubarek Oil and Gas Production Department has been urgently prevented, Trend reports referring to Uzbekneftegaz JSC.
It is reported that the AI-336-2-8 gas turbine engine was shut down due to a malfunction at the gas pumping unit of the Zevarda compressor station, owned by the Mubarek Oil and Gas Production Department.
According to the information, the main task of this compressor station is to send low-pressure gases coming from wells to the Zevarda complex for processing at the Mubarek Gas Processing Plant.
It is noted that the failure and shutdown of one of the gas pumping units at the station will lead to a reduction in the production of about two million cubic meters of natural gas per day.
Uzbekneftegaz reports that specialists examined the engine and found that the power turbine in it had failed. As a result of operational decisions, serviceable parts were removed from the engine being repaired in the station's warehouse and installed on the abandoned engine.
The repair work was quickly brought to working order by management specialists in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and put into operation as soon as possible, which saved the cost of imported spare parts purchased for engine repair and foreign specialists involved in their installation.
As a result of the repair work, it was possible to ensure uninterrupted, stable operation of the gas compressor unit and prevent a reduction in natural gas production.
Zevarda compressor station is located on the territory of Mirishkor district of Kashkadarya region and has four gas drive units. The annual capacity is two billion cubic meters of natural gas. In 2007, the station installed and put into operation gas-pumping units produced by the Ukrainian Sumy NPO JSC and Motor Sich JSC.
