Electricity generation in Uzbekistan from January through June 2021 increased by 9.14 percent compared to the same period in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the committee, the country's enterprises during the reporting period generated about 34.32 billion kWh of electricity.
Also, Uzbekistan in 6M2021 produced about 15.01 million Gcal of heat, which is 1.5 percent more compared to the same period in 2020.
Earlier it was reported that the generation capacity in the electric power sector of Uzbekistan by the end of the year will increase from 14,000 to 15,800 megawatts, or by 52 percent compared to 2016.
For, this in October of this year, a thermal power plant with a capacity of 240 megawatts will be put into operation in the Tashkent region, a gas piston power plant with a capacity of 174 megawatts - in the Khorezm region, and a solar power plant with a capacity of 100 megawatts (514 megawatts in total) - in the Navoi region.
