Technical oil in BTC pipeline reaches 3rd pumping station in Turkey
BTC Co completed fulfillment of the next section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline in Turkey with technical oil Azeri Light. The section from the 2nd pumping station (PST-2) to PST-3 in Turkey was fulfilled, BP, the operator of BTC Co, told Trend. It required 0.9m barrels of technical oil. At present the Company tests PTS-3 along the BTC pipeline.
There are 4 pumping stations, as well as way stations in Turkey.
Over 6m barrels of technical oil Azeri Light has been pumped into the BTC pipeline as a result of the fulfillment of the section between PST-2 and PST-3.
Similar operations will be carried out at the section between PST-3 and PST-4. The fulfillment of the BTC pipeline started in May 2005. As of 1 March 2006 over 5.5m barrels were pumped into the pipeline. The complete fulfillment of the pipeline requires 10m barrels.
