The banking sector in Georgia is represented by 15 commercial banks as of October 1, 2019, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
In September 2019, compared to the previous month, the total assets of Georgian commercial banks (in current prices) increased by 854.3 million lari ($290.3 million) or by 1.9 percent.
In September of 2019, total assets of Georgia's commercial banks stood at 45.8 billion lari ($15.5 billion).
The banking sector's own funds (equity capital) stood at 5.5 billion lari ($1.8 billion), which makes up 12 percent of the commercial banks' total assets.
