BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 17

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Turkmenistan invited the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to develop a roadmap that will outline areas of cooperation and expected results, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

This was said during the meeting of representatives of Turkmenistan and the EBRD, where the prospects for further development of cooperation were considered.

EBRD expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with representatives of Turkmenistan's private sector, which resulted in the financing of a number of small and medium-sized business projects.

EBRD will continue to work with members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, promoting business development through financial and advisory services.

Since the start of its operations in Turkmenistan, the EBRD has invested 293 euros million through 80 projects in a wide range of sectors.

As it was reported earlier, Turkmenistan and EBRD intend to intensify cooperation in a number of areas, including projects in the field of energy, transport, development of small and medium-sized businesses, and others.

During the meeting, the parties noted the need to adapt joint activities to the current situation, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
