Azerbaijan sees growth of GDP in non-oil sector

The nominal incomes of the population of Azerbaijan decreased by early March 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, the nominal income of the country's population in the first 2 months of 2021 amounted to 7.98 billion manat ($4.69 billion), which is 3.9 percent less compared to the same period of 2020.

At the same time, the country's nominal GDP amounted to 12 billion manat ($7.05 billion), 4.4 percent less than a year earlier.

"During the reporting period, the volume of GDP in the non-oil sector amounted to 6.61 billion manat ($3.88 billion), an increase of 0.2 percent year on year," the CBA report.

By early March 2021, investments in fixed assets amounted to over 1.3 billion manat ($764.7 million), showing an annual decrease by 31.9 percent or 626.8 million manat ($368.7 million).

The average annual consumer price index reached 3.7 percent, an increase of 0.9 percentage points over the year.
