Turkish Ziraat Bank shares forecast for Azerbaijan's GDP in 2021-22

Azerbaijan's GDP will make up $50 billion in 2021, the Turkish Ziraat Bank’s affiliate in the country forecasted in its audited report for 2020, Trend reports on Apr.12.

According to the bank’s forecast, by 2022, Azerbaijan's GDP will form at the level of $51 billion.

As the affiliate noted, the Azerbaijani government continued its monetary policy to maintain macroeconomic stability of the country in 2020. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan over the past year changed the refinancing rate several times, and this rate fluctuated within 7.25 - 6.25 percent with a stable decline.

"Ziraat Bank is following changes in the macroeconomic environment and is taking steps to maintain sustainable operations in the near future," the bank said.

International rating agencies regularly assess the credit rating of Azerbaijan. So, Fitch and S&P evaluated the country's rating at ‘BB +’, and Moody's - at ‘Ba2’ level.
