Iranian banks issued loans worth 3.32 quadrillion rials (about $79 billion) in the Iranian trade sector over the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).
According to the statistics, the loans worth 133 trillion rials (about $3.18 billion) were issued in connection with the establishment of enterprises and other opportunities in the trade sector during the reporting period.
"Within the last Iranian, 1.56 quadrillion rials (about $37.3 billion) worth of loans were issued in the trade sector as working capital," the statistics said.
Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 9.89 trillion rials (about $235 million) for the repair of enterprises and 197 trillion rials (about $4.7 billion) for the development of enterprises in the trade sector, the statistics said.
According to the statistics, at the same time, 1.39 quadrillion rials (about $33.3 billion) worth of loans was issued for the purchase of personal assets, 8.79 trillion rials (about $209 million) for the purchase of housing and 2.75 trillion rials (about $65.5 million) for other purposes in the trade sector.
As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 19 quadrillion rials (about $452 billion) in various economic sectors in the last Iranian year. This an increase of 94.8 percent, compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through March 19, 2020).
