The total liabilities of Azerbaijani banks in 10M2021 increased by 15.1 percent, or 3.94 billion manats ($2.3 billion) compared to the same period last year - up to 30.03 billion manats ($17.7 billion), Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, in the structure of liabilities, the largest share of liabilities (79.9 percent) fell on deposits (excluding deposits of financial institutions), which increased over the year by 23.8 percent – up to 24.02 billion manats ($14.1 billion).
At the same time, a significant part of them (63.7 percent) fell on deposits of legal entities in the amount of 15.31 billion manats ($9 billion) against 11.64 billion manats ($6.8 billion) a year earlier (an increase of 31.5 percent), of which 13.23 billion manats ($7.8 billion) were deposits up to demand.
Deposits of individuals increased by 12.2 percent on an annualized basis - up to 8.71 billion manats ($5.1 billion), of which 60.3 percent or 5.26 billion manats ($3 billion) were time deposits.
Deposits of financial institutions in banks decreased by 4.5 percent - to 1.07 billion manats ($629.6 million) against 1.12 billion manats ($659 million) a year earlier.
In addition, banks' liabilities to the Central Bank decreased by 1.5 percent, or 5.6 million manats ($3.3 million) on an annualized basis - to 370.2 million manats ($217.9 million). According to the results of 10 months, LORO correspondent accounts increased by 21.6 million manats ($12.7 million) or by 10.3 percent – up to 229.8 million manats ($135.2 million).
Loans from banks and other financial institutions increased by 12.8 percent and reached 2.38 billion manats ($1.4 billion) against 2.11 billion manats ($1.2 billion) a year earlier.
The issued securities of banks amounted to 2.96 percent, or 891.4 million manats ($524.5 million) of the total amount of liabilities, and other liabilities - 3.5 percent, or 1.05 billion manats ($617.8 million).
Also, the aggregate capital of banks in 10M2021 increased by 7.4 percent on an annualized basis - up to 4.93 billion manats ($2.9 billion). At the same time, the banks' own capital amounted to 4.59 billion manats ($2.7 billion), and capital reserves - 344 million manats ($202.4 million).
