Azerbaijani banks see increase in lending to capital, regions for 11M2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 29

The volume of loans issued in the capital and regions of Azerbaijan from January through November 2021 increased, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of the country (CBA).

According to the CBA, this figure amounted to 16.28 billion manat ($9.58 billion), up by 1.98 billion manat ($1.16 billion), or 13.8 percent compared to the first 11 months of last year (14.3 billion or $8.4 billion).

Of the issued loans, 12.73 billion manat ($7.49 billion) accounted for the capital Baku, which is 3.5 times more than the figure for the regions. Some 8.5 billion manat ($5 billion) of this amount was issued in national currency.

The average annual interest rate on loans in the country amounted to 11.84 percent, and in Baku - 10.24 percent.
