ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 19. The number of bank cards issued by the Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank at the beginning of April this year exceeded 1.1 million units, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, this figure represents a seven percent increase compared to the same date last year, when the number of bank cards totaled more than 1.02 million units.
The number of issued bank cards in Ashgabat on the specified date amounted to 507,208 units, which is almost one percent more than at the beginning of April 2023, when it amounted to 479,563 units.
Overall, the distribution of Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank cards in the regions is as follows: 163,924 units in the Balkan region, 141,544 units in the Mary region, 121,486 units in the Lebap region, 82,164 units in the Dashoguz region, 78,678 units in the Ahal region, and 5,386 units in Arkadag city.
The total number of bank cards issued by the Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank on the specified date is 19 percent of the total number of cards issued in Turkmenistan, which is over 5.64 million units.
