BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. Azerbaijan and the World Bank (WB) have discussed initiatives on the transition to a “green” economy, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov wrote on X, Trend reports.
The meeting was held with Sameh Naguib, WB Regional Director for Sustainable Development in Europe and Central Asia.
“During the meeting, we explored several key issues on the cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and the WB, including joint initiatives on the transition to a green economy, country partnership framework, and partnership opportunities within COP29,” the publication reads.
To note, for over three decades of fruitful collaboration with Azerbaijan, the Bank has rolled out 49 completed and three ongoing state loans for 52 projects, racking up a total value exceeding $4 billion.
In addition, more than $30 million has been earmarked for grant projects across a wide array of avenues, benefiting more than 115 technical assistance initiatives.
