BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 4. The upcoming COP29 conference in Azerbaijan serves as a testament to the country's growing international recognition, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan Gurbanmammet Elyasov said during the celebration of the country's Independence Day, Trend reports.
“Today, from both geopolitical and geo-economic perspectives, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan hold significant positions at the crossroads of Eurasia, being key players in the system of transport, communication, and energy corridors. I want to emphasize that hosting COP29 in our brotherly Azerbaijan this November is an indicator of its high recognition in the international arena,” he said.
The ambassador also noted that both nations are engaged in substantial energy projects while making significant contributions to combat climate change and promote the development of alternative energy sources.
