AzDatacom Network May Cover Enterprises in Azerbaijan’s All Sectors
Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 April / Trend corr S. Babayeva/ "AzDatacom, data backbone network, may cover establishments in all sectors in Azerbaijan," Nariman Hajiyev, head of National E-Governance Network Initiative (joint project of Azerbaijan's Communications and IT Ministry and UN Development Program), said on 30 April.
"If we manage to put the network into full operation by the end of the year, many State, business and educational establishments will join it. The network has no analogue in the country," he said.
Creation of AzDatacom consists of 2 stages - first will cover Baku, the second one - other regions and cities in the country. The Baku circle (including Absheron region) of AzDatacom with carrying capacity of 10 GB/sec was put into operation in January 2008.
The network was created on the basis of IP/ MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching).
According to Hajiyev, Ganja, Goranboy, Yevlakh, Agdash, Goychay, Agsu, Shamakha and Maraza regions are included into the second stage of the project.
