Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC from January through September 2021 increased the cargo transshipment by 21 percent compared to the same period last year, the press service of the port told Trend.
According to the source, in just nine months, 4.3 million tons of cargo were handled by the port, which is 734,000 tons more than the same period last year.
In addition, it is reported that 93 percent of the total cargo turnover falls on the share of transit cargo.
"The dry cargo terminal of the port handled 856,000 tons of cargo, which is 69 percent more than the same period in 2020. The bulk of the cargo was fell on from Turkmenistan," the press service of the Baku port said.
It was noted that the port handled 30,774 TEU containers in 9M2021.
"The volume of export of oil and oil products at the oil loading terminal of Dubandi for the first nine months of this year has increased almost threefold and exceeded one million tons," the Baku port said.
In addition, the number of wagons handled during the reporting period amounted to 22,201 units, and the number of large-capacity transport (TIR) – 28,491 units.
