BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. The EBRD's current portfolio of projects in Kazakhstan amounts to 2.91 billion euros, which is calculated for the implementation of 122 ongoing projects, Trend reports, citing the bank.
The previous update to the portfolio was revealed on 30 November 2022 and included 121 projects, worth 2.87 billion euros.
The share of sustainable infrastructure projects in the updated overall portfolio amounts to 71 percent, which is an equivalent of 2.07 billion euros. Around 24 percent or 710 million euros worth of projects belong to the industry, commerce, and agribusiness sectors.
Meanwhile, the share of financial institutions accounts for the remaining 5 percent, which equals 132 million euros.
The EBRD invested 480 million euros in Kazakhstan in 2022, which is a drop from the 558 million Euros recorded in 2021.
In the last five years, the cumulative investments of the Bank in Kazakhstan exceeded 2.59 billion euros.
Overall, the London-based bank invested over 9.8 billion euros in 304 projects in Kazakhstan during the years of its operations in the country.
