Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, July 25. A total of 500 new small and 100 medium and large enterprises have started operating in Kyrgyzstan from January through June 2023, Trend reports.
The State Statistical Committee of the country announced that a total of 6,800 new enterprises had been established during the first six months of 2023. During the specified period, some 2,100 peasant farms and 3,800 new individual entrepreneurs were registered in the country.
Bishkek, the capital city, has witnessed significant growth in business activity, with 2,500 new individual entrepreneurs, 200 small businesses, and 100 large companies being registered.
The Osh region has recorded 600 new peasant farms since the start of the year. Additionally, 800 new individual entrepreneurs and 100 small companies have emerged in the region.
In the Talas and Jalal-Abad regions, there has been a rise as well, with each region witnessing an increase of 100 new businesses.
Meanwhile, the number of small and medium enterprises in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 17,375 in 2022. Of them, 16,587 were small enterprises, and 788 were medium enterprises.
