BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 22. The Ministry of Finance expects that Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade will increase from $13.3 billion in 2024 to $14.5 billion in 2026, Trend reports.

Exports are projected to rise from $2.8 billion in 2024 to $3 billion in 2026, with an average annual nominal growth rate of 4 percent during the 2024–2026 period.

This export growth will be driven by increased shipments of cotton fiber, vegetables, fruits, clothing, accessories, and cement.

Imports are expected to increase from $10.5 billion in 2024 to $11.5 billion in 2026. The average annual nominal growth rate for imports is projected to be 4.3 percent, primarily due to higher inflows of petroleum products, natural gas, ferrous metals and their products, electrical machinery, equipment, plastics, clothing, accessories, and food products (including agricultural raw materials).

Kyrgyzstan has developed the National Export Program "Made in Kyrgyzstan" (Made in KG) for 2023-2026, aimed at boosting external trade.

According to the country’s State Statistical Committee, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $8.153 billion from January through July 2023, which is an increase of 32.3 percent compared to the same months in 2022.

Exports amounted to $1.602 billion, increasing by 45.6 percent compared to the corresponding months of 2022. Imports rose by 29.4 percent year-on-year, totaling $6.551 billion.
