Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has received an invitation to take part in the UN international conference on sustainable development, which will be organized in accordance with a UN General Assembly resolution in June 20-22 in Rio de Janeiro.
The invitation was sent to Berdimuhamedov by Brazilian President Dilma Rouseff.
"I would like to count on your participation and support to ensure that the conference is able to restore the international community's commitment to sustainable development," she said.
Specific objectives will be outlined that will give importance to sustainable development in international organizations and governments, Rouseff added.
The conference is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the first UN environment and sustainable development summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992.
The UNEP as a new environmental structure was established during this period. Its main task is protecting human life and economical development on the planet.
