Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the country's Cabinet of Ministers noted the high level of traditionally friendly bilateral relations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is one of Turkmenistan's largest trade and economic partners, as evidenced by the growth of the bilateral trade volume, said Turkmen government's message issued May 21.
Berdimuhamedov instructed to ensure a high organization level of preparations for the upcoming meeting of the joint committee on cooperation of Turkmenistan and the UAE that is to be held June 1-2.
From the Turkmen side, the joint committee will be headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, according to the president's decree.
A wide range of issues of cooperation in such priority areas as fuel and energy complex, industrial and transport sectors, communications and telecommunications, finance and banking sector will be included in the meeting's agenda.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the UAE were established in October 1995.
